Today Dan deploys to Afghanistan. He left this morning at 6 am and headed out from Trenton, then to Fredericton, on to God knows where before they finally arrive in Kandahar some 48 hours or so from now. He was happy to be finally on his way, after months of training, and constant changes, he actually gets to do the job he has trained for all of these years.
Our children continue to amaze. They are so stoic, and held in the tears until after we got home. Katty had a big cry in her room, and we all had a cry together. And then bless Elizabeth, we hugged for a bit and then she said, "Right, let's have breakfast, I'm STARVING." I could almost hear Dan say, "Let's do this thing." She is so much like him. And that was that. Breakfast, dressed, and off on the bus to school. Just another normal day in the Bobbitt household.
